I"m a 28-year-old male, and have had actually a mole on my stomach for as long as I can remember. Recently, for the an initial time, a black hair has begun to grow out of it. This caused it to become much more raised than before, so i plucked the hair and also it worked out back down. However, the hair has actually now grown back and the mole has end up being inflamed and painful come the touch.

Could this be a melanoma? I check out somewhere that the fact my mole has actually a hair farming out of it means it practically certainly isn"t cancerous, however I"m not sure and would love some reassurance/advice.

My situation is slightly complicated by the reality I"m abroad for the next two months, with tiny opportunity to check out a GP.

Hi,

As Jenn has already said, only a GP can offer you the reassurance that your mole is OK. Normally speaking, a mole with a hair growing from the is much less likely to be cancerous. However, you need to bear in mind the melanoma doesn"t constantly follow the rule so obtain it confirm out once you gain home & hopefully it will be fine.
